3D Aluminium have completed the installation of Phase One windows to the HumSS Building at the University of Reading.
Following commencement on site in April 2017, 3D Aluminium have successfully completed the installation of 334no. Sapa Dualslide Window with Tilt function in the first two months on site.
Following commencement on site in April 2017, 3D Aluminium have successfully completed the installation of 334no. Sapa Dualslide Window with Tilt function in the first two months on site. Utilising advanced polyamide thermal break technology, Dualslide provides high thermal performance without the need to resort to foam filled profiles or complex and costly sealed unit specifications.
3D has co-ordinated closely with the University’s Estates and Facilities management when programming works to provide minimal disruption to the busy exam timetable period, whilst at the same time not delaying the overall programme. This has led to 3D installing the new windows out of hours to ensure there are no delays to the £1.5m refurbishment scheme.
This scheme is part of the re-invigoration of the HumSS Building due to coincide with next years’ re-naming of the building in honour of Edith Morley, who is believed to be the first woman awarded the title of professor in a British University, following a decision taken by the University Executive Board.
